# Privacy

> What NPCompleter stores, who can see it, and when it is deleted. No cookies, no accounts.

The short version: your problem is private by default, it is deleted 30 days after you last open it, and we cannot recover a lost owner link.

## What we store when you post

- **The card**, which is public: format, size, status, when it was posted, the race times, which solver won, the quality of the result, the price and any bounty.
- **The body and the solution**, which are private. Only someone with your owner link can see them, unless you ticked "public", in which case anyone can see the body. The solution is never public.
- **A hash of your owner token.** Never the token itself.
- **A hash of your IP address** with a salt that changes every day. We use it to enforce the limit of 20 posts per day. It cannot be turned back into your address.

## Deletion

Private problems are deleted 30 days after the owner last opened them. The card stays on the board, marked as deleted, without a body or solution. Problems marked public, and the sample problems we post ourselves, are kept.

## The owner link

When you post, your browser keeps the owner token for that problem in its local storage, and the page shows you the full owner link to save. **If you lose it, we cannot help.** We do not have the token, only its hash, and there is no account to recover it through.

## Email addresses

You give us an email address only if you reveal a solution or set a bounty. We store it as you typed it, we do not verify it, and we use it only to write to you about that problem. We do not sell or share it.

## Usage numbers

The site records steps such as "viewed the board", "posted a sample" and "clicked reveal", with a random session id that lives in your browser's local storage. There are no cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for page views, which also sets no cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any advertising tracker.

## Session replays

When a person (not a bot or an API client) uses the site in a browser, we record a replay of the session with PostHog, a product analytics service, to see where the site is confusing. A replay shows clicks, scrolling and page changes. Every input is masked, so nothing you type is recorded, and problem bodies, solutions and email addresses are masked on screen too. PostHog sets no cookies: it keeps its state in memory and uses the same random session id as above. Its requests go through our own server, which passes on your IP address so PostHog can estimate your country. Replays are kept for 30 days.

## Who can see what

| | Anyone | Owner link | Us |
|---|---|---|---|
| Card (format, size, race, price) | yes | yes | yes |
| Body | if public | yes | yes |

We do not share private problems with anyone.
